Is a Silver Plated item with the silver plate worn off worth anything to anyone?
I have an old pitcher that lost its plating and some old silverware with worn plating. I'm not interested in having them replated for my own use but I'm wondering if they're worth anything to an antique dealer or to sell on ebay or if I should just pitch them in the trash.
Yes they are. If they are antique a collector will pay you just as much as if they were like new.
I have sold worn silverplate items on ebay and the older and ornate the patterns the more $ I have received.
Old ornate silverplate items can also be resilvered so if some one has a piece missing from a family heirloom set they will buy a worn piece and have it redone.
