what is the largest silver coin in circulation today?
what is the largest silver coin in circulation today, or in the 20th century,
I am not interested in any commemorative coins
It's the Austrian Thaler, with a diameter of 39.5 cm. It was used all over the world as a 'trade dollar', and was still in use in parts of the world, most notably Africa and the Middle East, after World War II. Today, it s a silver bullion 'investment' and collector coin.
The 1-ounce American Silver Eagle and Chinese Silver Panda are both slightly larger, but both are bullion coins and are not used as circulating coinage.
There are no circulating silver coins being made today because of the high price of silver.
