Salt Lovers Beware
The increases in diseases like obesity, hypertension and diabetes can all be contributed to one common factor. You guessed it; you are eating too much salt and the fact is up to 8 out of ten people are without realizing it. Your body needs more potassium than salt for healthy balanced lifestyles and it is potassium that leads to good health not salt! It has been proven by studies and research done all over the world, that the more salt you consume the more you are likely to suffer from hypertension plus the many diseases that are a result of this. Heart attacks, kidney diseases, dementia from memory loss are just a few examples! The more salt you consume the more your risk of high blood pressure increases with age. This leads to even more health problems.
What is really frightening is the fact that nine out of ten processed foods will have far more salt in them than what your body needs. Hidden salt even occurs in breads, canned foods, fast foods processed meats and chesses. Never mind those delicious potatoes crisps and salty snacks you are so fond of. More than likely you use salt in your cooking and flavoring and there will be salt shaker present at every meal.
Too Much salt results in sluggishness.
When you have eaten a salty meal you may notice that you have less energy than before. Salt is absorbed into your blood and body cells that make you sluggish. People are eating less fresh fruit and vegetables, although almost every health article and diet plan will insist that you eat more. There are some supplements that can be taken; but the best way is following healthy diets of fresh produce and reducing salt intake as much as possible.

Weight watchers and people that are on diets to lose those pounds either knows already or will be surprised to find that too much salt in your diet promotes weight gain. Salt stimulates the storage of fat in your body and slows down and decreases energy levels as mentioned above. The resultant weight gain triggers off all sorts of further diseases with obesity leading in cardiovascular disease and kidney problems. Excess salt also increases glycemia by activating glucose assimilation in the intestines. The shortage of potassium then results in glucose intolerance. Premature ageing is also a result of high salt intake and not enough potassium as well.
What you can do for better health.
