Silver Salver Dish made by Mappin & Webb to commemorate the official opening of The London Stock Exchange 1972?
Members of Staff of The Council of The Stock Exchange were given a silver salver dish to commemorate the official opening by The Queen of The London Stock Exchange in 1972 and I would like to know how much it is worth.
Depends whether it is Solid Silver or not. That will give you its intrinsic value (just weigh it and multiply by the price of silver per ounce.) Silver is around £10 an ounce. If it is plated (EPNS) then you just have its collectors value.
P.S. It commemorates the opening of the new LSE not the original opening! That was in the 1800s
If it is solid silver it might be worth getting it valued by an auction house like Sothebys (they will probably give you an indication for free)
